Baqer Mohebi:
Belief in the future
1931
was the year that Baqer opened his first grocery store in the old Dubai Souk, next to Dubai Creek. In an environment rife with economic hardship, survival was tough. But the vision that he had for the family business ensured a reputation of giving customers what they needed, steadily strengthening his business base.

Dr. Zainal Mohebi:
Building on landmark events
1966
was the turning point for Dubai, when oil was discovered. The UAE was formed in 1971. These landmark events encouraged Zainal, Baqer’s son, to take the grocery business and expand it outwards.
He urged international FMCG companies to come to the UAE, distribute their products and flourish.
